Weights and Free weights such as fixed dumbbells and barbells are ideal to develop upper body strength. Based on your weight strategy different types of weights apply: If you are looking to build muscle mass then free weights are the best option. These are easy to store and let you carry out a very varied range of exercises. A minor disadvantage of free weights is that certain exercises are harder to perform compared to using fixed weights on a multi gym. As they are free weights, they require more concentration and more effort than fixed multi gym equipment. But this is an advantage as you will be working out your muscles more intensely.
