John Duke, the inventor of the WaterFlywheel is the founder and creator of WaterRower Inc. The company was formed in 1988 with its original offices and workshops located in Rhode Island, New England. Today the company’s American headquarters are still in Rhode Island. Rhode Island is a small coastal town in the North East United States.

The company also has offices in Britain. WaterRower (UK) Ltd was formed in 1991 with the purpose to distribute WaterRower products throughout Europe. The UK offices were originally in Fulham in London.

The WaterRower WaterFlyWheel is a unique piece of fitness equipment designed to copy the exact dynamics of the way a boat moves through the water. Those who use this equipment get the same fitness benefits they’d get from rowing an actual boat. Using the WaterFlywheel feels very similar to rowing an actual boat.
