When most people think of Schwinn, they think of bicycles. But Schwinn also makes home and commercial fitness equipment and other recreation products. In fact, the company has established itself as a leader in the advances in fitness technology. It has also revolutionized the bicycle.
The company has been around for a number of years. In 2002 it launched the new Evolution line of indoor cycling bikes. The following year Schwinn Fitness launched the 201 and 203 recumbent bikes and the 101 and 103 Upright bikes. By 2004 consumers were really enjoying these products. Consumer ratings skyrocketed with the 101 and 103 upright bikes and the 201 and 203 recumbent bikes.
The year 2006 proved to be a very successful year for the company as far as technological advances and innovation are concerned. That year Schwinn launched the 430 elliptical machines, which are smaller than many others. In 2006 the step-through 231 recumbent machines was also released. Consumer feedback for both products was impressive.
Schwinn, as part of Nautilus, has grown to be the number one name in fitness equipment. Fitness experts and athletes are involved in every step of the products developed by the company.
Besides cardio equipment for home use, the company also manufactures a full line of cardio and strength equipment for health club use.
